• This one of a kind project was supplied to a luxury kitchen showroom based in Cardiff in South Wales. As suppliers of Corian kitchen worktops Cardiff we were asked to integrate this fireplace into to worktops to create a unique focal point to the design and the showroom.

• The worktops are fabricated in the Corian colour Glacier White and includes a custom made matching Corian Glacier White sink. The display includes many features that showcase the durable nature of Corian, and how it can be utilised to create truly inspiring designs.

The details

• The main peninsular fireplace feature was constructed using a timber lattice structure clad in 12mm Corian which created access for the fireplace and the power supply. The peninsular also contained steel support bars which allowed us to create a breakfast bar area as well that is completely unsupported. Designed with a variety of angles and thickness this created a monolithic angular feature that contrasted from the simplistic sink run.

• The custom made Corian sink really highlights to amazing characteristics of Corian. Not only can we create sinks of any size and shape but on this particular sink we also created a hidden tap shelf. When not in use the tap can be pushed down and a sink cover added to increase the available workspace. the sink cover on this job also had built in drainer grooves on the back to again remove these from the worktop and increase the available worktop space.
